Foundation Fellow
Programming / Marketing – 0.6 FTE, 18 month contract

Through the generous support of the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation, Adelaide Festival Centre is pleased to be able to offer an 18 month Fellowship to a pro-active individual, passionate about developing their career in the arts.
The 2022 Foundation Fellow will work closely with both Marketing and Programming departments focusing on First Nations projects, engaging multicultural audiences, and also working across the large program of festivals and shows produced and presented by Adelaide Festival Centre throughout the year.
The Fellowship has been designed to provide intensive professional experience working in South Australia’s centre of creativity and heart of the arts. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn and experience many of the aspects that make up the Programming, Marketing, audience development and production functions of arts administration. There will also be the opportunity to establish effective networks with media, artists and production representatives particularly in First Nations and multicultural communities.
This role will require working flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to support performances, functions and events. The Fellow will be expected to assist in developing strategies to attract new audiences with a focus on younger First Nations and multicultural audiences, assist with programming of First Nations work and marketing it to all audiences.
To be successful you will need:

  • The ability to engage and work effectively with diverse communities
  • Knowledge of, understanding and experience with liaising with First Nations communities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including computer literacy
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously, as well as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • A commitment to the arts and to a career in arts administration
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (or near completion) in Event Management, Arts, Media, Marketing or Communications, or experience commensurate to, is desirable but not essential.

  • Ability to identify and develop new ideas, analyse alternative courses of action and their implications with ability to develop action plans
