Hi Darren,
With National Reconciliation Week upon us, I encourage you to take a moment to learn or refresh your knowledge of significant moments in our national history where brave individuals – Indigenous and non-Indigenous – have fought for Indigenous rights and paved the way for modern activism today.
We have come a long way, however, there is still work to be done even if the paths we walk to get there appear different.
Earlier this year, I joined Uncle Michael Douglas (Kabi Kabi Elder) and CPB Contractors in acknowledging the traditional land on which the Bruce Highway Upgrade – Cooroy to Curra (Section D) project is being delivered.
More recently, I had the opportunity to join other First Nations business owners for an honest and open discussion about diversity and inclusion within corporate Australia.
It’s conversations like these – big or small – that pave the way for shared understanding about reconciliation and how we can move forward together.
Until next time, take care.
Joey Wallace
