Subject: June Yarn | Multhana Property Services
Hi Darren,
With National Reconciliation Week behind us and NAIDOC ahead, it’s been another fulfilling month yarning with clients and businesses about how we can make change together.
I had the pleasure of joining the Australian Defence Force and Downer for a meaningful discussion about Indigenous participation with the ADF’s supply chain, well as the opportunity for a more personal yarn with Broad Construction about reconciliation. Thank you also to UnitingCare for inviting me to join your Allyship in Reconciliation panel, where important discussions were had about taking action with reconciliation.
Lastly, a big congratulations to USQ Jets, who won the Indigenous round of the Queensland Sapphire Netball Series 47-46 against the Titans. It’s the second year Multhana have proudly sponsored the team’s Indigenous uniform.
Until next time, take care.
Joey Wallace

Cross River Rail Tunnel Walk
Multhana assisted in facilitating Cross River Rail’s tunnel walk in late May, where more than 100 Queenslanders had the opportunity to enter the Merle tunnel at the Northern Tunnel Portal, next to the inner-city bypass, before the rail tracks are laid.
The team were excited to support our client beyond cleaning by assisting with setting up and packing down the event, interacting with visitors and handing out drinks, and even boxing cupcakes for children!
“It was a really interesting experience walking down the tunnel. I’m very pleased my team was chosen to take on the day,” says Multhana’s Client Service Manager, Rodney, who manages the cleaning for the Cross River Rail sites.

Building a solid foundation with ADF & Downer
We had a great time yarning with Downer and Allison Norris CSC – Director General Estate Service Delivery for the Department of Defence – about Indigenous participation within facility services for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Multhana are proud to be part of Downer’s strong relationship with the ADF, driving reconciliation through commercial cleaning and landscaping for Downer’s defence base and estate management services.

Walking down the Reconciliation Garden with University of Queensland and Arcadia Landscape Architecture
In the spirit of National Reconciliation Week, we looked back at the Reconciliation Garden our Landscape Construction team developed in partnership with Arcadia Landscape Architecture last year for the University of Queensland.
Located at the Herston campus, the garden was designed in consultation with the local Indigenous community, including traditional Yuggera custodian Gaja Kerry Charlton and Elder Carmel Schlege, and serves as a meaningful connection to country for staff, students, and visitors to the area.
The garden incorporates Indigenous plants such as Grass Trees, chosen for their traditional use as food, drink, and building material. Multhana used the sustainable ‘rammed earth’ construction method to incorporate dirt from the project site into the seating areas.
