Subject: COMMUNITY NOTICE – HAVE YOUR SAY – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Business and Innovation Reference Group (BIRG) Survey

Dear Community,

The Sunshine Coast Council, through its Reconciliation Action Plan, supports and encourages First Nations Partnerships.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Business and Innovation Reference Group (BIRG) is a Ministerial advisory group that brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs, business leaders and researchers to provide advice to the Queensland Government on how best to support the development of existing, emerging, and new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and innovators across Queensland.

The BIRG is seeking consultation from Queenslanders to establish a representative body for First Nations businesses in Queensland. The establishment of the Indigenous Business Representative Body will provide a voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses. It will enable Indigenous business owners as a collective to self-manage while offering the freedom to pursue economic opportunity and protecting Indigenous business interest and rights.

You can have your say by completing this online survey.

Regards,
