Subject: Brisbane City Council 2022 Apprentice recruitment – Auto Manufacturing Apprentice role advertised now

Good afternoon,

I wanted to make contact to let you know that Brisbane City Council has advertised for two 2022 Auto Manufacturing Apprentice roles and one Auto Repair Traineeship and I would encourage you to pass the information below on to any students, colleagues or contacts that are interested in a career pathway with Council’s Transport Operations team. We would also be interested in hearing from candidates that have an interest in the Heavy Vehicle Mechanical or Auto Electrical trades.

What is Auto Manufacturing?

As an Auto Manufacturing Apprentice (sometimes known as a Coach Building Apprentice) you will primarily work fix damage that has occurred to the body and chassis of Council’s bus fleet.

To do this you will manufacture framework sections in metal, fibreglass and other materials, design and fit mechanised equipment, use shaping, cutting and welding equipment, design and carry out chassis alterations in consultation with engineers, and alter assembly line vehicles to accommodate special requirements.

How to apply

In order to apply candidates will need to set up a Success Factors profile, submit a cover letter, resume and answer the questions on the online application. In the candidates’ application please note which trade/s they are interested in applying for.

The details of how to apply can be viewed below but if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Furthermore there is a range of information on Council’s Apprenticeship program website: https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/about-council/working-council/council-employment-programs/apprenticeships
