The Fleet Solutions branch manages every step of the lifecycle of Brisbane City Council’s fleet – we plan, we procure, we maintain, we repair, and we dispose.
Council’s Fleet Solutions operates a modern workshop facility at Wacol which provides scheduled servicing, general repairs and vehicle body work to Council’s fleet of vehicles along with the procurement and disposal of Council’s fleet assets. Fleet Solutions service and maintain vehicles and major and minor plant items, as well as trailers and specialised equipment, so the range of equipment includes anything from a whipper snipper to heavy earthmoving or quarry equipment.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Parts Interpreter to join Fleet Solutions, with Brisbane City Council. The Parts Interpreter is an important member of the Fleet Operations team and is responsible for effectively and efficiently procuring parts and equipment for Council’s large and diverse fleet. In addition, this role is responsible for assisting the leading hands with planning and scheduling maintenance activities for tools and equipment to comply with Workplace Health and Safety and other legislative requirements.
To be successful in this position you will have:
· Experience working within a fleet operational environment
· Strong organisational skills to manage the ordering and delivery of parts and services
· The ability to recognise opportunities for improvements to systems or processes
· Experience interpreting accurate information from corporate systems e.g. SAP
· Possession of a current “C” class driver licence.
To be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria: For salaried roles, applications can be accepted from: permanent employees; temporary employees who have been employed for a minimum of six months; people employed as temporary employees through a Community Jobs Program/Work Placement; casual employees who have had the equivalent of six months full-time employment; and external applicants for internally advertised Band 2 to 4 vacancies from the Indigenous communities and the Disability Community Network (Equity and Diversity Networks). Labour hire (agency contractors) are not eligible to apply for TV6 roles.
