Are you looking for a development opportunity in Human Resources (HR) where you can put your people skills and administrative support expertise to great use? If so, Employee Relations (ER) in Human Resources has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join their team until 10 June 2022.
As an Employee Relations Officer you will be responsible for providing support to the Employee Relations Manager and leadership team. This is a great opportunity to build capability by supporting the teams across ER which provide specialist advice, support, coaching and consulting services in the areas of:
· Industrial relations including dispute management, employment conditions and benefits, certified agreements, modern awards and employment related legislation
· Frontline HR support for managing people including performance leadership, building leader capability, flexible work arrangements and managing grievances
· End-to-end case management for matters relating to absenteeism, poor performance, misconduct and fitness for role
· Organisational redesign and change support
· Remuneration and benefits including market-based employment arrangements, classification of roles, salary benchmarking, salary packaging, superannuation and general employee benefits
This role also provides administrative support to the Corporate Improvement and Internal Communication (CIIC) team in HR. The CIIC team provides strategic advice and consultancy to support the organisational strategic agenda to continually improve and provide value for Brisbane, as well as manage internal communications.
The role of the Employee Relations Officer is to:
· Provide administrative support on a range of functions including, mail and calendar management, minute taking, preparation of agendas and meetings
· Provide general support across ER and other HR teams with development opportunities to build on industrial relations and human resources capability
· Manage procurement functions including raising shopping carts and purchase orders
· Assist in tracking and updating stream budgets
· Monitoring of mailboxes
· Any ad-hoc administration duties as required
To be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria: For salaried roles, applications can be accepted from: permanent employees; temporary employees who have been employed for a minimum of six months; people employed as temporary employees through a Community Jobs Program/Work Placement; casual employees who have had the equivalent of six months full-time employment; and external applicants for internally advertised Band 2 to 4 vacancies from the Indigenous communities and the Disability Community Network (Equity and Diversity Networks). Labour hire (agency contractors) are not eligible to apply for TV6 roles.
