This is an exciting short-term opportunity for a highly motivated officer to work in the CARS Strategic Regulation, Systems and Analytics team for up 8 weeks to help deliver on Council’s $100 million commitment to transform the Oxley Creek corridor into a world-class green lifestyle and leisure destination.
Reporting to the Principal Policy and Legislation Officer Built Environment, you’ll be responsible for delivering Phase 1 of the Oxley Creek Industrial Compliance Strategy Project. This will require you to utilise your investigative research skills and knowledge of development and land use laws to undertake a compliance audit of industrial businesses operating within a priority area of the Oxley Creek corridor/catchment.
As the successful applicant, you’ll need to be able to work autonomously and have both a good understanding of Council systems and well-developed written communication skills to prepare reports. To be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria: For salaried roles, applications can be accepted from: permanent employees; temporary employees who have been employed for a minimum of six months; people employed as temporary employees through a Community Jobs Program/Work Placement; casual employees who have had the equivalent of six months full-time employment; and external applicants for internally advertised Band 2 to 4 vacancies from the Indigenous communities and the Disability Community Network (Equity and Diversity Networks).
