Brisbane City Council’s Environment Centres are responsible for creating sustainable communities through the provision of environmental programs and services. The centres develop and deliver fun-filled and educational engagement programs at various locations in Brisbane.
This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy working both indoors and outdoors, thrive on being part of a small, agile team and possess a real enthusiasm for environmental conservation.
Being rostered at all three locations – Downfall Creek Bushland Centre, Boondall Wetlands and Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre offering you the chance to interact with and educate students and the general public about Brisbane’s natural environment.
This role works part-time a definite 21.75 hours per week. This includes one weekend day of 7.25 hours and the rest of the hours to be completed during the week.
To achieve this, the successful candidate will have:
· ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence
· delivery of environmental based programs to a range of audiences
· applied knowledge in the identification and assessment of native and exotic flora, fauna and habitats with ability to interpret their natural history, ecological functions and processes
· demonstrated ability to deliver community engagement activities and events and support volunteers
· demonstrated strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
· demonstrated strong organisational and time management skills.
