Brisbane City Cemeteries provides burial and cremation services to the community and is responsible for the maintenance of Council’s 12 cemeteries. We are currently seeking to expand the part of our workforce that maintains the cemetery grounds, graves and memorials across our Brisbane city cemeteries.
In this role you will be responsible for working as part of a team to provide quality customer service in undertaking minor grounds maintenance or landscaping projects in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures. This work may involve using minor plant and equipment, including gator, kanga digger, ride-on mower and right down to whipper snippers and various other hand tools to maintain gardens, graves and memorials to the required standards.
As a part of this role, you may be required to work from any one of Council’s operating cemeteries from time to time. We have two permanent roles available x1 at Toowong Cemetery and x1 Pinnaroo Cemetery.
To be successful in this role, you must have an:
· Ability to work successfully as a part of a team
· Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to complete customer service and activities associated with field work
· Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems and experience in the application of Workplace Health & Safety procedures
· Experience in the operation of minor plant and machinery, such as mini excavator, gator, kanga diggers, ride-on mowers, whipper snipper
· Possession of a C class drivers licence.
