FW: ( NSW ) Support program for those looking after Aboriginal children

Just an email to let you know we have added additional sessions of our ‘Carer Support program’ commencing in late-January 2022. The program is suitable for carers and other people looking after Aboriginal-identified children that would like to better support their child with culture, and which is suitable for Indigenous and non-Indigenous guardians and caseworkers. 

Carer Support Program

Aim

Our Carer Support Program is created to develop your understanding on Aboriginal traditions and beliefs and build on strategies to incorporate a more inclusive cultural environment. The online program is led by our Senior Aboriginal Educators and includes a range of cultural activities and topics to discuss and learn to give further support Aboriginal children in care.

You will receive:

• 3x 1-hour Sessions with Senior Aboriginal Educator
• Certificate of Completion
• Weekly sms and email reminders linking them to our online platform. 

I have attached a flyer for your consideration and if you are interested in this program, we have available sessions starting from this month. 

To book, simply fill out the attached booking form and return it to us with payment. Please also let us know of any special needs your carer has, to enable us to make sure they get the most out of the program.

Please note, we do have extended programs available if this is of interest, as well as programs for Aboriginal Children in care. To extend your learning, you may wish to book Version 2 and 3 of the program, which are designed to flow on from the introductory first program. We are currently offering a 10% discount if the full 9-week course of programs are booked together. If you’d like more info, please feel free to get in touch.
