Learning Hub Officer

Reporting to the Team Leader Library, the City’s Learning Hub Officers are instrumental in driving engagement with the local community through the delivery of innovate programs and events that foster learning and literacy across our libraries. We have two opportunities, one permanent part-time (0.8 FTE) and one temporary part-time (0.46 FTE) available!

In this role, you will undertake duties such as:

 

·         Develop and implement a diverse range of library programs, events and services to encourage learning and literacy, community participation, and a sense of belonging

·         Support the provision of the library circulation services and operations

·         Demonstrate and promote the City’s digital literacy resources

·         Provide welcoming customer service to the Canning community and responding to their needs in a friendly and timely manner

Skills & Experience

·         Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a customer focused role and excellent interpersonal skills

·         Advanced digital literacy skills and confidence in guiding customers in using library technologies

·         Experience in delivering library programs and events

·         Flexibility to work across a 7 day per week roster, including evenings and weekends (please refer to opening hours)

·         Valid Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)

·         Satisfactory National Police Clearance (under six months)

Benefits

 

·         1x permanent part-time position – 121.25 hours per 4 week cycle

·         1x temporary part-time position (until 25 June 2022 ) – 35 hours per fortnight

·         Free Gym membership to both Leisure centres!

·         From $62,495.05 per annum pro-rata + super
