• Explore financial opportunities (Abstudy, Trade Incentives, Student loans, assistance for Travel, Accommodation and Relocation and Scholarships)

Dear Partners

My name is Sue Prior I work for Centacare GambleAware Hunter New England and North West GambleAware program. GambleAware program primarily  is dedicated to helping individuals, children & young, families and friends impacted by gambling harm.  This program is funded by the NSW government Office of Responsible Gambling (ORG). It is a fairly new program which started in June 2021.

We have huge capacity to talk new referrals at the moment.  We offer a range of free and confidential services such as:

  • Counselling (therapeutic and financial)
  • Venue support
  • Community Engagement
  • Care coordination
  • School education

Our aim is to raise the awareness of gambling harm and provide support to those affected by gambling harm in our community. Our therapeutic and financial counselling service is free of charge and confidential to any persons experiencing gambling related harm.

A financial counsellor can help your tenants who have issues with gambling, deal with their financial issues. Our financial counsellor Richard Sara, can work with these tenants to get on top of their finances and sort out issues with rental arrears in a fair and affordable repayment schedule.

I have attached a brochure about what our financial counsellor Richard can offer to your tenants.

You can contact our Intake Officer on 1800 497 065 if you would like to refer your tenants on their behalf to our service or simply Email: gambleaware@centacarenenw.com.au.

Also, click here to do an online referral.
