Subject: OPEN TODAY: Closing the Gap grants scheme for Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and Aboriginal businesses.
OFFICIAL
Hi all
Applications have opened for the NSW Government’s Closing the Gap grants scheme for Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and Aboriginal businesses.
The grants program comprises two streams, valued at $4.23 million each.
The Closing the Gap Aboriginal Strengthening Business Capacity Program will lead to improved employment outcomes, increased business growth and greater economic prosperity for Aboriginal people in NSW.
This is the first time Aboriginal Affairs has directly supported Aboriginal businesses and comes under the NSW Government’s 2021-22 Closing the Gap Implementation Plan. Under the plan, Priority Reform 5 directs support for Aboriginal businesses through NSW Government procurement as well as directly funding Aboriginal business growth.
Grants of up to $50,000 for strengthening business capacity and up to $200,000 to assist businesses scale-up are available.
As part of the CTG Grants program, applications have also opened for Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to apply for one-off funding to improve outcomes for Aboriginal communities across NSW.
Grants in this category are available for up to $50,000 for strengthening organisational capacity and up to $200,000 to grow and expand under the $4.23 million funding stream.
This program reflects Priority Reform 2, to build and support the Aboriginal community-controlled sector. Priority Reform 2 aims to better direct money towards programs and areas where Aboriginal communities will see the greatest benefits.
Please direct any enquiries about the grant process or guidelines to the websites below or the 1800 019 998 where contact officers can answer any enquiries or questions.
Applications for the Strengthening Community Capability and Strengthening Business Capability grants close 5pm Friday, 25 March 2022.
