FW: ( S.A. ) Teachers of STEM Initiative (ToSI)

I just wanted to touch base with further information relating to the Teachers of STEM Initiative scholarships that are available through the Stronger Smarter Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are interested in completing a STEM teaching qualification.
Applications are closing soon for potential candidates who are currently studying or looking to commence study this year. The current intake closes on the 28th of February; however, applications are open year-round.
The initiative provides mentoring and scholarship support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women to become qualified Teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
This includes support to enrol in studies, and pathways to become eligible to study and STEM teaching qualifications.

The Teachers of STEM Initiative supports:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women working towards STEM teaching qualifications
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community members, Indigenous Teacher Aides/Assistants or Indigenous Education Workers interested in gaining a teaching qualification
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary or secondary teachers who would like to complete STEM qualifications through a Graduate Certificate or post-tertiary studies.??????

Support includes:

  • Scholarship support to help with the costs associated with studying
  • Mentoring support from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander teachers and STEM professionals
  • Customised professional development programs
  • Networking and partnership opportunities.

Please pass this information onto your networks. Additionally, if you are interested or know someone who might be interested get in touch with Stronger Smarter here for further information and support.
