Aboriginal Social Media & Communications Network Australia (ASMCN) registered as Indigemail Australia Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island Corporation is sponsor funded Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Email and electronic information Network of Australia that provides a holistic approach to helping our people enhance their opportunities by sharing and caring about our people through the distribution of info throughout our Nation Wide Network.
ASMCN Australia is growing by the day we have a fantastic board from all over Australia, we intended to bring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia together sharing and caring for each other and enhancing opportunities for our people.
ASMCN was created to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander run Emailing Network to the other Indigenous communities of Australia. Our email network system aims to promote and distribute information from state to state to enable the community optimum access to information for:
- Local, Regional, State and National Aboriginal Events in all sectors
- Employment Opportunities
- Educational opportunities
- Sporting Opportunities
- Sorry Business/ Funeral Community Notifications
- Any Good news stories
Another goal of ASMCN is to create a fund that would enable us to contribute to community interests such as contributions to fees for attendance of culturally appropriate events. This would include sporting events at a national level, small assistance for families affected by loss.
In some cases we have had families who have lost everything in house fires and we would like to be able to provide even the smallest contribution to assist in these times of suffering. Emails from all states are significantly important for our mob to share what is happening in each state.
ASMCN has been run by Ricky Pascoe and Darren Williams on a voluntary basis for over 10 years. We had received a couple of donations in the past that part paid for the web hosting, thank you to those who contributed it was greatly appreciated.
Any donations would be appreciated and we are developing sponsor packages as the costs have become significant to Ricky and Darren. Sponsorship will include logos being used on the Website, Facebook and our email distribution, if you would like to sponsor us please contact Darren at darren@indigenoussupport.org.au Ricky Pascoe is located in Brisbane and Darren Williams is located in the ACT however our board consists of members from all states in Australia with the exception of Tasmania and Victoria.
We suggest people set up a new Gmail or any free account and send us your email address just for this network so it does not interfere with your current work or home email address.
We at ASMCN try to ensure that your email address is not visible by sending out or forwarding emails like this through the Bcc… protecting your privacy. Bcc is shorthand for Blind carbon copy. If you add a recipient’s email address to the Bcc’ box in a email message, a copy of the message is sent to that group of people and the recipient names are not visible to other recipients of the message. If the Bcc box isn’t visible when you create a new message, then you can add it by clicking on Cc then clicking in the Bcc box in the new window. This also reduces the scrolling required to get down to the content of the message in question.
We believe that it is important for the security of those who are on the ASMCN email network list and will never disclose your emails to anyone who is not a member of the Corporation and without approval. If you feel that your email address had been compromised by any email we sent please contact us straight away at darren@indigenoussupport.org.au so we can address the matter. Don’t forget to set up a separate email account that is just for Indigemail as the volume can be big, and then it will not affect your work email or personal accounts.
