Are you passionate about environmental conservation and the negative impacts of invasive animal species?

The Environmental Management Team are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Invasive Species Management Officer.

This short-term opportunity (two roles available) is to undertake programs that manage pest animals and to undertake a range of compliance and enforcement actions under State Legislation, Council’s Local Laws and Policies. This role is also required to contribute to the delivery of education and information strategies on pest animal management, and implement and monitor pest management strategies by applying best practice in animal management. Working with predominantly private property owners across Brisbane, your relationship management and negotiation skills will be put to good use. The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment is key to success, along with an ability to ‘think outside the box’. Your analytical and problem solving skills will also help you to succeed in this position.

You will be required to provide specialist advice to customers and both internal and external stakeholders, and to have demonstrated ability to show discretion when dealing with sensitive and emotive matters.

In this role, you will be supported by a professional team, with the opportunity to work on a diverse range of issues, working together to achieve common goals.
