We have a rewarding opportunity for a Lifelong Learning Librarian to join the Community Learning team on a fulltime, temporary basis until 30 June 2022.

The Lifelong Learning Librarian is responsible for the development and delivery of innovative programs that encourage community learning across the City’s Libraries. The role also provides excellent customer service to community members and ensures efficient running of library operations and services.

Reporting to the Team Leader- Library, the Lifelong Learning Librarian performs duties such as:

·                     Overseeing collection management services and ensuring community access to resources through cataloguing, monitoring of supplier services and supervision of copy cataloguing.

·                     Demonstrating and promoting digital literacy resources that help build community capacity and engagement.

·                     Developing and delivering learning programmes and contributing to library system development, problem resolution and library product maximisation, including statistical collection, analysis and reporting.

·                     Providing leadership to staff and volunteers through supervision and support.

  • $77,090 – $84,122 per annum + super

You will have eligibility for ALIA Association, Allied Membership, combined with 3 to 5 years of professional customer service experience. The right applicant for the role will have a qualification in Librarianship, advanced digital literacy skills, and comprehensive knowledge of collection management, cataloguing and resource acquisition in all formats. The ability to provide strong team direction and prioritise one’s time is key. A valid Working with Children Check and current (under 6 months) satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.
