Public holiday reporting and payment dates

Your reporting and payment dates may change when we close for the Christmas and New Year public holidays. We may pay you early.

Office closures

We’ll close on:

Monday 27 December 2021
Tuesday 28 December 2021
Wednesday 29 December 2021
Monday 3 January 2022.

Self service

You can use your Centrelink online account through myGov to:

report your income
view your reporting dates for the next 12 weeks
change some of your appointments
apply for an advance payment
request a document.

You can also use our Express Plus mobile apps and phone self service.

You can still report your income to us, even when we’re closed. However, if you do this on a public holiday we’ll pay you after the public holiday.

You can view your reporting dates 12 weeks in advance online. You can do this in your Centrelink online account through myGov or the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.

If you don’t have one, you can create a myGov account. You can still report your income to us, even when we’re closed.

Reporting and payment dates if you need to report

The dates you need to report to us have changed due to the Christmas and New Year public holidays.

If you report early during your assessment period you’ll need to include what you expect to be paid for your full period. You must also do this for any other changes that may affect your payment. If you make a mistake, you can correct your report within 14 days, or when you next report.

If you report after your assessment period, we’ll pay you after you report to us. You may want to do this so you can be sure of your employment income or changes to your circumstances.

To report you can use any of the following:

Express Plus Centrelink mobile app
phone self service.

You must report when you’re due, so we can pay you.

Payment dates if you don’t need to report

If you don’t need to report employment income, we’ll pay you early.

We won’t delay payments because of a public holiday, but we may pay you earlier than normal. An early payment is your normal payment, just paid early.

Where we pay an early payment, we pay as close to and before your normal payment day. You’ll need to budget so this payment lasts until your next payment day.
