Subject: FW: Please spread the word across our communities – DCJ Pre employment program launched today for placements to commence 2022
Hi folks,
Please circulate through your networks of Aboriginal community!
It’s the opportunity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islander individuals to submit an EOI to participate in a DCJ pre-employment program in 2022, see details in the link provide below.
There will be 40 -45 places next year for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders interested in joining DCJ as CCOs, SAPOs, Youth Justice Officers and correctional officers.
The is almost double the number of places each year previously.
Also, next year there will be opportunity for participants to attend the block training sessions in Dubbo or Campbelltown – which may make it more accessible for some regional candidates.
For your info, in 2021, there were 12 candidates who completed the DCJAPEP program. 10 chose to apply for roles with CSNSW and went to assessment centre, 5 candidates were successful at comparative assessment for CCO roles, 2 were excluded because of service and conduct checks, 1 is completing their service and conduct check, and 2 are on talent pools for us to offer (in North and Syd Sth West).
Our goal is to have more people who are interested in ComCor complete the pre-employment program and secure roles with us in 2022.
In circulating info about the course, you may also want to circulate the links to our videos about being a CCO, so potential applicants can better understand the opportunities that await!
Thanks,
Shanna
