Cemeteries Maintenance Officer
Brisbane City Council operates 12 cemeteries and three crematoria facilities across the city which deliver important services to our local community. Our dedicated team of customer service professionals maintain the cemetery grounds, graves and memorials across our cemeteries network and provide a vital and sensitive service at each of these facilities.
In this role you will be responsible for working as part of a team to provide quality customer service in undertaking minor grounds maintenance or landscaping projects in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures. This work may involve using minor plant and equipment including; gator, kanga digger, ride-on mower, whipper snippers and various other hand tools to maintain gardens, graves and memorials to the required standards.
As part of this role, you may be required to work from any of Council’s operating cemeteries from time to time.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
· an ability to work successfully as a part of a team
· good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
· experience in cemetery or garden maintenance
· knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems and experience in the application of Workplace Health & Safety procedures
· experience in the operation of minor plant and machinery, such as mini excavator, gator, kanga diggers, ride-on mowers, whipper snipper
· possession of a C class driver’s licence.
