There is an exciting opportunity for a Librarian – Band 4 team members to temporarily join the Toowong Library team in a Flexible Part Time, 18-hours per week capacity. This position is available from 11 June 22 to 25 November 22 or for a lesser period as may be determined.
The roster is to be negotiated but will include Saturday work.
Toowong Library is a busy suburban library with a strong community feel. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant medium sized metro library that runs a range of diverse service offerings to a very diverse community. The successful candidate will be joining an enthusiastic and dedicated team and work with us to deliver library services to the Toowong community including many Outreach opportunities.
The applicant will need to demonstrate:
· Proven skills to plan and deliver activities that meet customer needs within a dynamic Library service context
· Extensive readers advisory skills and well-developed ability to provide accurate and comprehensive reference and community information at the point of need
· Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead a work team as required
· Demonstrated ability to support the Team Leader to achieve Council and Branch outcomes
· Ability to adapt to change; be innovative and forward thinking

To be eligible to apply you must meet the below criteria.
For salaried and wages roles, applications for TV6 or temporary vacancies of up to 6 months can be accepted from:
· permanent employees (excluding employees on probation)
· temporary employees who have been employed for a minimum of six months
· people employed as temporary employees through a Community Jobs Program/Work Placement
· casual employees who have had the equivalent of 12 months full-time for salaried roles and 3 months equivalent for wages roles
· agency contractors (i.e. labour hire) who have had the equivalent of 12 months full-time equivalent.
· external applicants for internally advertised Band 2 to 4 vacancies from the Diversity and Inclusion network.
