The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is proud to acknowledge and celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) people and their contribution to our community.

Each year Council seeks nominations from members of the community and community organisations for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Awards.

The Awards are presented at a special event hosted by Council and the Aboriginal Advisory Panel.

Categories for the Awards are:

  • Elder of the Year
  • Aunty Josie Agius Youth Achievement Award
  • Person of the Year
  • Sports Person of the Year
  • Contribution to the Arts
  • Educational Achievement
  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Recognition of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island group or organization

for its contribution to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community

  • Recognition of a non-Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, group or organisation

for their contribution to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community

The Awards will be presented at a special dinner event to be held during Nunga Week in November 2022

This is a great opportunity for organisations located within the Moreton Bay Region to attend and hear about the latest information from experts. The forum is centred around inclusion and topics include – Opportunities through inclusion, First Nations Cultural Protocols, Inclusive opportunities for your club – NDIS, Good access is good business and Accessible and inclusive communications.

The forum is free to attend, and light refreshments are included. The forums have been made available via livestream, if this is your preferred way to access please select this option when registering.
