The Department of Justice and Attorney-General is currently accepting applications under Round 1 of the 2022 Investing in Queensland Women grant program.

Applications for Round 1 2022 are now open and will close on 5pm Monday 28 February 2022. Successful applicants will be announced in April 2022.

Grants of up to $15,000 (excluding GST) are available to community groups and organisations across the state’s urban, rural and remote communities to develop and deliver initiatives that align with the Queensland Government’s strategic priorities for women and address the unique issues faced by women and girls. The total allocation of funds is $270,000 (excluding GST) per round.

One-off grant funding will be made available to support initiatives with a duration of up to 6 months that align with the purpose of the program, that is to help deliver community events and strengthen partnerships, relevant to achieving gender equality and preventing all forms of violence against women.

Applications under Round 1 2022 can support the delivery of projects in the second half of 2022 (including Sexual Violence Prevention Month).

2022 Queensland Women’s Week

Image removed by sender. Image

The annual Queensland Women’s Week (QWW) will be held from 5-13 March 2022. QWW promotes awareness of the accomplishments of and issues faced by women, as well as to protect their rights and advance gender equality.

The theme for this year’s QWW is ‘Keep Making Noise’. This theme acknowledges that women have raised their voices to demand equality and respect and that conversation is not over. It calls on women and girls to continue to tell their stories to build momentum as we all strive for change, and celebrate the achievements of women.

During the week, individuals and organisations across the state host events and activities, offering something for everyone. You are encouraged to host an event with the community to celebrate Queensland Women’s Week. You can submit a request to include your event in the calendar.

We have created a suite of resources to help you promote QWW, such as social media graphics, posters, event invitations, web banners etc.
