Subject: Youth Homeless Matters Day Expo 2022
Good Afternoon everyone,
Moree family support are starting to organise the Youth homelessness Matters Day Expo for 2022 😊
Youth Homelessness Matters Day is a National campaign held annually since 1990, aimed at raising awareness of youth homelessness amongst decision makers and wider community. YHMD is a project of the National Coalition for Housing. This year’s theme is LIKE SHARE ACT.
The aim of the expo to provide the young people of our community with the knowledge of what services are available to them if they ever find themselves in a difficult situation, such as homeless, mental health, family and domestic violence, income support, how to obtain ID, fire safety in the home, legal rights and support, career opportunities just to name a few.
I’m asking for all services that would be interested in attending this day to email me back by the close of business on Tuesday 5th March 2022.
We will have a services meeting with everyone during the month of March 2022. (Tea and coffee available) There will be a covid safe Register available on arrival and all attendees must QR in and out.
The day will be set out like the 2021 event, and we will be asking that it is years, 10, 11 and 12 invited again to attend.
The proposed date at this stage for the 2022 Youth homelessness day Matters Day is on the Friday 8th of April 2022, we will confirm the date with all services that are interested in getting involved when we meet with Moree Secondary College and St Philomena’s.
Please feel free if you have any enquiry’s, questions or concerns to contact myself, Crystal, or Chelsea at Moree Family Support office on (02) 6752 4536 Or contact me via email: crystalt@morfss.org.au
This is an event that our youth should be aware of, and I think that if all services are involved than we are giving our youth a chance to have an understanding on what our services can do for them in our community.
I have attached a poster to this email for all services to display in their offices.
Regards
